The Asian Migrants Credit Union (AMCU) is a savings and credit cooperative of and for the migrants. It is the first and only credit union of migrant workers of various nationalities in Hong Kong.

What is Asian Migrant Credit Union (AMCU)?
It is

• a democratic mutual help Co-operative aiming at building up migrants financial management & good saving practice;
• provide convenient saving account may accrue annual dividend & 1% loan interest rate with tailor made repayment schedule upon members in financial hardship;
• a HK registered legal entity in accordance to Hong Kong Law, Chapter 119 - the Credit Union Ordinance, and under the governing of Credit Union Registrar of Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, HKSAR
• Principles and guidelines government our operations are laid out by Chapter 119 - the Credit Union Ordinance as well as our by-laws.

Who are we?
Migrant workers, or members/staff of migrant organizations or worker trade unions in Hong Kong.

Since 2008, we have opened more than 700 accounts for migrant workers.

Our objectives are:

• To promote savings consciousness and pratice amoung our members.
• To promote an enabling environment for savings and asset building.
• To offer low-interest loans to members;
• To provide higher interest on savings;
• To provide capacity building and training on financial management and related skilss;
• To help raise and deepen members' understanding of savings, credit and economic development matters.
